Project: Burchfield Color and Shape Study
For this Burchfield study I wanted to explore his colors and shapes to try to understand how he creates such a strong feeling of nostalgia, and the passing of time using the strength and beauty of nature.
Earthy Terracotta Bedroom
Terracotta pinks and brick reds are both bright and happy and earthy and grounding. I love layering them together. The terracotta bedding look above is my patterned duvet in block printed arches, with block-printed pink on clay diamond stars patterned sheets, and brick red moons pillow shams.
Charcoal Black Moon Wallpaper
The dark charcoal gray wallpaper would pair nicely in a room with any other warm neutrals. The dark color has a grounding effect, and combined with the soft textures it would go great on the walls in any cozy quiet room like a bedroom, or bathroom.
Yellow Boho Bedding
The yellow bedding look above is my Boho Geometric duvet in sunflower yellow , with block-printed moon cycle patterned sheets in white and pale pastel yellow, and goldenrod yellow pillow shams in a textured parquet pattern.
Dark Red Moon Cycle Wallpaper
This dark lava red moon wallpaper would spice up a warm neutral design palette, or combine with lighter reds and terracotta colors for a bolder style.
Project: Chaotic Hare
I love surrealism and try to pull that feeling into my work. I chose a hare and some passionflowers to express the feeling of chaotic good, that bit of randomness that brings change and growth.
Burgundy Pink Boho Bedding
Dark pink is a great choice for the bedroom. It has energy but with the cooler tones still brings that calming aspect like you would get from blues or purples. My pink boho block prints collection would look great in your bedroom.
Dark Emerald Green Moon Wallpaper
The dark emerald green would give a good kick of color to a dark gray or brown palette, or combine with coordinating patterns in shades of green for a bolder style.
Studio Log: Drawing Dandelions with Inktense Pencils and oil pastels
This month I’ve been experimenting a little bit with process. I took this class taught by Marco Mazzoni and decided to try the process he shares with some botanical drawings.
Fall Bedroom Inspo
Fall is my favorite season, and I’m finding myself more and more likely to want to fill my home with the warm browns, yellows and pinks of fall for the whole year. I designed this bedding collection with fall in mind.
Sage Green Bedroom Decor
The neutral look above is my Diamond Stars duvet in neutral gray, with swirling block-printed modern abstract patterned sheets in a lighter cement or clay color, and dark boho moons pillow shams.I live in the pacific northwest, and frankly I cannot get enough green in my life. This sage green bedroom decor set is my block printed collection, including Olive green Modern Geometric Boho Duvet, with swirling block-printed modern abstract patterned sheets in a lighter sage green, and dark evergreen parquet patterned pillow shams.
Retro Diamonds Wallpaper with Moons and Stars
This retro wallpaper is a cross between boho style with celestial moons and stars, and retro midcentury influence with geometric diamonds and rich colors.
I think it would look great in a study or play room!
Pale Yellow on White Boho Moon Wallpaper
The warm white neutrals in this boho moon wallpaper would be great in a minimal bedroom or bath, or combine with your favorite warm colors for an happy boho style.
Black and White Bathroom Wallpaper
Black and white is an excellent choice for a bathroom. The contrast will make the whole room feel clean and sharp. To soften it up a bit, try adding texture and pattern with an eco-friendly black and white wallpaper.
Modern Boho Neutral Bedroom
The neutral look above is my Diamond Stars duvet in neutral gray, with swirling block-printed modern abstract patterned sheets in a lighter cement or clay color, and dark boho moons pillow shams.
Dark Green Boho Bedroom Inspiration
Here in this bedding collection I’ve pulled together sage green striped sheets, a dark emerald green boho butterfly duvet, pillows in coffee brown gingham, spotted shams, and dark green curtains.
Quiet Boho Blues
Blue is a great color for a calm quiet room like a bedroom or a reading area, also great for baths.
Studio Log: Color Swatches and Hare Studies
And then I started drawing hares. I love their mischievous and chaotic energy, at any moment they might scurry away.
Vintage Greens and warm neutrals Color palette
I was color swatching for a watercolor painting study recently and decided to pull together a few of my green patterns in similar colors to create a palette.
